Ollie Morgan will consider running away from the village once again when his father Luke kisses his girlfriend Evie.

The stunning turn of events takes place next week, as Luke continues showing signs of out-of-character behaviour due to Frontotemporal dementia.

Evie won't be thrilled off the bat as she arrives to see Ollie sharing some laughs with his former love interest Brooke Hathaway, and she also doesn't receive the warmest welcome from Cindy.

Cindy quickly shifts her focus to even bigger problems when she realises Luke has gambled away all of the inheritance he got when his mum Sue passed away.

Luke gets a lifeline when his gambling somehow pays off, yet Cindy is still deeply concerned over his decision-making capacity.

Luke ends up bumping into Evie at The Dog, and as they take a stroll at the park to get to know each other, Luke makes a horrible mistake by trying to kiss her!

When the news spreads through the Cunningham house, Ollie vows to go back to London with his girlfriend. Cindy decides it's time to confront Luke over his erratic behaviour of late.

Cindy's plans are derailed when Luke begins choking on a wooden spoon during lunch. It's Liberty Savage to the rescue in the nick of time to save Luke.

Ollie is left with a major decision to make – can he really leave his father in a declining state?

Gary Lucy opened up about the "heartbreaking" future for Luke earlier this year, discussing how his real-life experience with his nan has partially inspired the story.

"She's much further along than Luke is – she's in a home – but it's the family members it's tough on because the person with dementia is in their own little world," he told Inside Soap.

"With those links to my nan and everything our family is going through, I really wanted to do it justice, even though it's been really challenging."
