An alert of an armed robbery left some East Carolina University students on edge and Greenville Police searching for answers.
This is the second robbery this year and students living here at The Province Apartment Complex said they want answers and said they are now scared to be out at night.
“Yeah, we were a little bit scared,” ECU student Lennon Hickman said.
Hickman and her roomate said they saw flashing lights as an ECU alert came in describing an armed robbery at their apartment complex.
“It was a little scary, it being so close to home and just having it happen in the building right there,” Mason Muskett said.
ECU police sent out the alert saying someone robbed someone Saturday night of their phone.
“They gave the announcement of what the subject looked like, and I was like, I wonder if he is still circling around. They said he went down that road on a bike,” Hickman said.
ECU Police said Greenville Officers are investigating the case but the university is required to send out an alert if something happens at a certain proximity of the campus.
“Do you know the person that was robbed?,” said Hickman.
“I do not know but, they said they didn’t get hurt so I’m just glad that that’s how it was.”
Hickman said she’s worried because no one has been arrested.
“It is a little bit scary thinking about it because it could happen at anytime and I have to come out here late at night sometimes to take my dog out and it's just a little bit scary,” Hickman said.
Greenville police said they will comment once the investigation is complete.
