Watauga Police officer attacked with knife

Watauga Police say someone attacked an officer with a knife, in what may have been an ambush.

Police say they got a call around 10:30 Sunday night about someone with a weapon. When officers got on the scene they say the suspect came out from between two homes and attacked an officer with a knife.

The officer was struck above the eye and needed stitches. The suspect then surrendered.

Police are now saying they believe the call was made by the suspect to ambush officers on the scene. The suspect is now being held at the North Richard Hills Joint Detention Facility on a charge of aggravated assault on a peace officer.
