Marshall, 46, was with Real Salt Lake as an assistant coach from 2015-20 following a playing career that spanned 349 games. During his time with Real Salt Lake Marshall worked under Jeff Cassar, Mike Petke, and Freddy Juarez.
However, it was announced following the 2020 season that Marshall’s time at Real Salt Lake was coming to an end when he accepted the position as under-19 manager of FC Cincinnati’s academy side.
Chaos has ensued at FC Cincinnati as of late. On August 6th, FC Cincinnati parted ways with their general manager Gerard Nijkamp. The club has conducted an immediate search to replace Stam and Nijkamp.
Real Salt Lake has eight games left in the regular season and they will not play FC Cincinnati. However, Real Salt Lake is currently fighting for a playoff spot as they currently sit in seventh in the West.
On Wednesday evening, Real Salt Lake will host LA Galaxy at Rio Tinto Stadium. The Galaxy is two points ahead of Real Salt Lake in the fifth position.
Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. and can be streamed for free on the KSL Sports & KSL 5 TV app or on KSL Sports dot com.
