Deputies find frightened 6-year-old boy 2 miles from home, riding scooter
Deputies in Flagler County say a woman left a 6-year-old boy home alone early Monday and that the frightened child was found 2 miles away trying to go to St. Augustine.Margaret-Anne Schickerling, 29, is charged with child neglect. Deputies said the barefoot child was found riding his push scooter in Palm Coast just after 5 a.m., about 2 miles from home. Deputies said the boy told them he woke up in the middle of the night, alone, and was going to ride to his grandmother's home in St. Augustine. The suspect is jailed without bond. The child is with a relative.
