Suspect's Name Released in Brutal Stabbing Death of Bus Driver

The subject in the brutal stabbing of a Pasco bus driver is being held in the Franklin County jail, on charges of First Degree Murder.

Now, his name has been released.

Monday, Pasco Police said 34-year-old Joshua D. Davis is on the investigative hold, after he allegedly ran and jumped aboard a bus driven by 72-year-old Richard Lenhart of Pasco.

Last Friday, Sept. 24th, Mr. Lenhart was preparing to leave the area of Longfellow Elementary School at 301 North 10th in Pasco when Davis boarded the bus and stabbed Lenhard with a knife.

He was severely injured, and despite EMS efforts, and those at a regional trauma center, he passed.

Pasco Police indicated that before he passed, Mr. Lenhart had apparently wanted to make sure the 35 children on board his bus were safe, and being cared for. Police continue to investigate the incident. Lenhart was a well-known veteran driver, who was much liked by the children he transported.

Police have released no other information about suspect Davis, or the motives behind his alleged attack. We are certain a lot more details will be coming out in the next few days and weeks.
