(KNSI) — A 44-year-old St. Cloud man is jailed, accused of choking, threatening, and hitting a pregnant woman.

Police say they responded to the 800 block of 10th Avenue North for a domestic assault in progress on September 23rd. Police spoke with a woman there who said Marshall Adrian Pack choked her, slammed her head into a wall, and threatened to kill her when he became upset after trying to talk to her about tabs for the vehicle she was driving. The woman said she had just returned home from bringing her child to school and told Pack she was trying to sleep.

She says he grabbed her by the throat and squeezed so hard she had trouble breathing and could not yell. She said Pack told her he was going to kill her because he was sick of her being so difficult before grabbing her lower jaw and chin area, slammed her head into the wall several times, and was afraid he was trying to kill her.

She told investigators she tried to convince Pack to stop attacking her because she is pregnant with his child. She said he went and grabbed something out of the dresser and was worried it was a gun he had taken from her a week ago. He then demanded the keys to one of his vehicles, ordered her to go downstairs, and forced her to get on her knees. She said she again pleaded with him not to hurt her and their baby. The criminal complaint says Pack threatened to kill her, then told her to get up and get his keys before assaulting her again. She said she handed over the keys and then called a friend telling her she needed help so that the friend would call the police.

Officers spoke with Pack, who told investigators they had been arguing the night before about his unfaithfulness. He admitted to waking her up to get his car keys but allegedly told officers he only touched her to roll her over to get her to wake up and denied hitting the woman.

Pack is charged with two counts of felony domestic assault, felony domestic assault by strangulation, and felony threats of violence. Bail has been set at $200,000.
