The U.S. Army has awarded a five-year, $138.4 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to IBM for the delivery of information technology services in support of the military’s technology service provider.

The Bethesda, Maryland-based company will deploy IT services on behalf of the Army’s Product Director Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Enterprise System and Services, the Department of Defense said Friday.

ALTESS is an Enterprise Services-managed program responsible for delivering data security, technologies and customer support needed to ensure military mission preparedness. It has enterprise data centers that provide for the system environment requirement of organizations in the Joint Forces, DOD and Army.

IBM will perform the work in Radford, Virginia, through Sept. 23, 2026. The company was given $15.6 million from the fiscal 2021 operations and maintenance fund of the service at the time of the award.

The Army Contracting Command received eight offers for the competitive contract via online solicitation.

In February, the service branch renewed a contract with IBM for the continuous provision of a full portfolio of IT management services for its logistics data center.
