MTA worker assaulted at LIC subway station: officials

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police launched an investigation after an MTA employee was assaulted at a Queens subway station early Monday, according to transit officials.

The incident happened at the Vernon Blvd-Jackson Avenue subway station in Long Island City just before 6 a.m.

The MTA temporarily halted service on the Flushing-bound 7 line but has since resumed with delays.

The severity of the worker's injuries weren't immediately known.

No arrests have been reported.
