Plymouth BPWS, City Council to Meet Tonight

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members will discuss a no parking sign request when they meet tonight.

The board members tabled it during their last meeting in order to gather more information on the situation.  Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt previously indicated that the Hatfields on Alexander Street are complaining about people blocking the entrance to the driveway on their property, but he previously said he has not seen any issues the last few times he’s driven by the area.

In other business, the board members will consider a Jefferson Street Tactical Urbanism request and receive information from Surf Broadband.  The board members will also set a trick-or-treat date and time during tonight’s meeting.

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety will meet tonight at 6 p.m. ET, followed by the Plymouth City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m.

The Plymouth City Council members will open two public hearings tonight.  One will be for the 2022 budget and the other concerns the vacation of an alley in the Menominee Heights Subdivision.  An ordinance concerning that vacation will be considered later in the meeting.

The council members will also review proposals that deal with amendments to the zoning ordinance and the subdivision control ordinance.

An ordinance that addresses appropriations and tax rates will be up for approval, as well as resolutions that amend the Economic Development Plan for U.S. 30/Oak Road area in TIF #1 as well as the U.S. 30/Pine Road area in TIF #3 to add the proposed Veterans Parkway Extension project to the project list. The council will also consider a resolution declaring an area as an Economic Revitalization Area for future tax abatement, and a resolution to approve a Commercial Revitalizations Rebate Program Grant request.

Both meetings will be held in Plymouth City Council Chambers room on the second floor of the Plymouth City Building at 124 N. Michigan Street.  Those interested in attending should enter the building through the Garro Street entrance.
