Homemade Happiness & Co., offers home decor and custom-crafted items from owners Kayla and Brian Moore, along with 13 Southeastern Ohio vendors.

Brian and Kayla Moore discovered a business opportunity during the COVID-19 pandemic and have opened their boutique in downtown Cambridge.

Last August, Kayla found a pair of shadow boxes on Pinterest and asked Brian to make them for her. After he completed them the idea occurred to Kayla to make and sell shadowboxes on Marketplace through Facebook.

"So, we decided to sell them and they started selling well," Kayla said. "We started building console/entryway tables after that and we sold them on Marketplace."

After the creations started selling online Kayla and Brian decided to set up space inside Dealbusters in Byesville to sell their creations. According to Kayla they started out with about 13 items in a booth. They expanded quickly and were soon taking custom orders.

Brian and Kayla Moore are the owner of Homemade Happiness & Co., a new business Cambridge.

"We walked Main Street (Wheeling Avenue) in Cambridge literally three or four months, but we couldn't find a space," Kayla said. "Then I saw that formerly the Learning Jungle building was open. I did a little bit of research and we were able to make contact with the Central Ohio Education Service Center (previous occupants) and it's just exploded from there."

The couple's new business Homemade Happiness & Co., located at 723 Wheeling Ave., opened on Saturday. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening, hosted by the Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce, will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The store will have Moore's custom-built items home decor, crafts, and antiques from 13 local vendors. The Learning Jungle will be making a return with their Melissa and Doug items through a space in Homemade Happiness &Co.

Custom-crafted entryway tables are a popular item at new business Homemade Happiness & CO.

Customers can order custom-made furniture and signs from the Moores. Customers will work with Kayla on the design and Brian will custom build what they want.

According to Kayla some of the more popular items they sell are there entry way tables, and TV consoles. She also said some of the decorative signs have also been very popular, and Kayla upcycles some furniture as well.

"Our mission is to help people find happiness in great pieces to accent the spaces that mean the most to them in their homes, in their offices," Kayla said. "Our store offers a unique boutique experience with our items as well as the local venders and makers that provide a variety of gifts."

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
