JAMES FREDRICK O’NEIL

Jim was born in Alpena on May 1, 1933, to the late William and Edna (Fredrickson) O’Neil and married Ada Maralyn Yuker on Feb. 28, 1953. Jim served in the United States Army. He retired from Stoneport in 1996 and was an active member of the Long Rapids Township Fire Department serving as chief for 44 years.

Surviving are his wife, Maralyn, two children, Mike (Darlene) O’Neil, Patti (Leonard) Roznowski, five grandchildren, Scott O’Neil, Todd (Michelle) O’Neil, Eric (Ali Hohman) O’Neil, Jason Roznowski, Jessica (Nathan) Sumerix, nine great-grandchildren, Emily, Devin, Branden, Marlie, Hunter, Lily, Brody, Austin, Hudson, three siblings, Donna Sue Nevins, Bill O’Neil, Peter (Esther) O’Neil, several nieces and nephews.

Mr. O’Neil was preceded in death by three siblings, Doris Lynn Burns, Sharon Pebble, and Bob O’Neil.

A private graveside service has taken place. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Interment: Long Rapids Cemetery

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alpena Senior Citizens.
