Health Department warns of potential COVID exposure at Pinky’s Bar in Geneva

Patrons who were at the bar on Sept. 18 and Sept. 21 are encouraged to isolate, test and monitor for COVID-19 symptoms.

The Ontario County Public Health Department has confirmed a person with a case of COVID-19 attended Pinky’s Bar at 14 East Castle St. in Geneva.

This person attended while infectious on Saturday, Sept. 18, (2 p.m to 7p.m.) and on Tuesday, Sept. 21 (2 p.m. to 7p.m.).

Public Health officials ask that unvaccinated patrons visiting during these times quarantine immediately, monitor for symptoms, and get tested for COVID-19 within the next 3-to-5 days.

“Please quarantine immediately and contact Ontario County Public Health. Patrons who are fully vaccinated do not need to quarantine unless they have symptoms. Fully vaccinated people should get tested 3-5 days after their exposure, even if they don’t have symptoms,” according to a release. “They should wear a mask indoors and in public for 14 days following exposure or until their test result is negative. People who visited the bar at another time are not at risk of infection from this exposure.”

“Pinky’s Bar has been extremely cooperative with Ontario County Public Health,” stated Public Health Director Mary Beer. “Together we are working to identify those at risk and to minimize the spread of COVID-19 infection.”

“COVID-19 vaccine, social distancing, masking, and hand washing remain important prevention methods. All residents should monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms of nausea, vomiting, fever (even low grade), cough and shortness of breath and contact their healthcare provider for instructions if feeling ill.”
