Massachusetts State Police investigating single-car crash that kills two 21-year olds

“Saturday morning at 7:20 a.m., Troopers from the State Police-Russell Barracks responded to a single vehicle crash on Old Westfield Road in Granville that resulted in the death of the operator and a passenger. The vehicle was discovered 30 feet into a woodline and had been there for some time.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Justyn Trempe, 21, of Granville was operating the vehicle at some time prior to 6 a.m. when for unknown reasons the vehicle went off the roadway. Trempe was discovered to be deceased when Troopers arrived. Trempe’s passenger James Novak, 23, also of Granville was found to be deceased as well. No other vehicle was involved.

Granville Fire and EMS, as well as Granville PD assisted with the crash scene. The crash remains under investigation with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, The Russell Barracks.”
