IN 1988 CONGRESS ESTABLISHED HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH TO CELEBRATE THE RICH HISTORYND A CULTURES OF AMERICANS WHOSE ANCESTORS CAME FROM SPAIN MEXICO THE CARIBBEAN AND CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA THE TIMING SEPTEMBER 15 THROUGH OCTOBER 15TH IS SIGNIFICANT AS IT COINCIDES WITH THE INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS OF LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS YOU HAVE SEEN STORIES ON KOOC ABOUT THE RICH HISTORY OF HISPANIC AND LATINO FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY. IT’S OUR WAY OF CELEBRATING THIS GROWING POPULATION.
