MOORESVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) - A man has been arrested after one person was injured in a shooting Sunday afternoon in a Walmart parking lot in Mooresville.

Robert Little Baker-Brown was found later in the evening and charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Mooresville officials say police responded to the shooting around 12 p.m. at the Walmart on Norman Station Boulevard where a 27-year-old male was suffering from a gunshot wound to his back near the garden center entrance.

The man was transported to Carolinas Medical Center and is expected to recover.

The initial investigation found that Baker-Brown drove to Mooresville to confront the victim and then immediately left the area after shooting him. Baker-Brown was allegedly heading back to his residence in Georgia and investigators contacted law enforcement there.

Baker-Brown was found at his home and taken into custody in Forsyth County, Georgia by the US Marshal Service and Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. He is being held in Georgia, pending extradition to North Carolina.

The initial investigation showed that this was not a random act but an isolated incident that resulted from a domestic violence situation involving the victim and a domestic partner.
