A new delivery service is creating a Med City warehouse full of snacks, pet supplies and baby gear with plans to deliver to Rochester doors within 30 minutes.

Gopuff, a Philadelphia-based “instant delivery” business founded by college students in 2013, delivers a wide array of groceries for a flat delivery fee of $1.95.

Compared to most popular delivery services, Gopuff operates its own “micro-fulfillment centers” with its own selection of products versus picking up items at grocery or convenience stores.

In Rochester, Gopuff is building out a 9,955-square-foot product warehouse at 2705 U.S. Highway 14.

Gopuff, which was valued at $15 billion this summer, operates in more than 650 cities with about 250 fulfillment centers.

The firm entered the Minnesota market in 2018 with a St. Paul warehouse followed by a Minneapolis one in 2019. While it does deliver alcohol in some markets, Gopuff does not deliver alcohol in Minnesota.

Gopuff officials say the most popular Minnesota orders are Funyuns, Pepperoni Hot Pockets, Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked ice cream, Scott toilet paper and Bounty paper towels.

It is not known when Gopuff will start service in Rochester.
