Cristiano Ronaldo's Favourite Meals Are Now On Manchester United Menu, Teammates Not Convinced

The Portuguese superstar is known for his really strict diet but not all his teammates are keen to follow suit.

Cristiano Ronaldo has persuaded Manchester United chefs to add his favourite meals to the menu in the club canteen.

That's according to a report by The Sun, which claims that the 36 year old has asked for dishes like octopus and the Portuguese stew 'Balcahu' to be included. The latter is made with salt cod and eggs.

"Cristiano is very much into his proteins," a source at Old Trafford told the paper. "Stuff like slices of ham, eggs and avocados and the chefs are trying to help him with a little taste of home."

However, the insider revealed that Ronaldo's choices have divided opinion in the dressing room, with some keener for something slightly more conventional.

"He also loves octopus but most of the lads won't go there," they continued. "Even if it clearly works for Ronny!"

"Ronny may try to convert a few of the lads to Portuguese food, but if some hoped it was just Peri-Peri chicken from Nandos they were disappointed!"

The new Manchester United number 7's incredibly strict diet is well known. He doesn't drink alcohol and only eats six times a day.

That said, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner does like a treat now and again. Prior to Saturday's defeat to Aston Villa, the former Juventus and Real Madrid man was spotted heading into a Subway in Manchester.

Let's hope that hearty Italian bread will fuel his return to form on Wednesday night, when The Red Devils take on Villareal in the Champions League.
