CHICAGO – The UIC women's golf team will get an opportunity to play at its home course this weekend, as the Flames host the first-ever Briar Ridge Invitational. The tournament, being played Sunday and Monday, will take place at Briar Ridge Country Club, located in Schererville, Indiana.
 
UIC is part of a seven-team field, with fellow Horizon League foes Green Bay, Northern Kentucky and IUPUI joining the competition. Also in the field is Chicago State, Morehead State and Evansville.
 
Action will begin Sunday with 36 holes of action, while the tournament will end with the final 18 holes Monday morning.
 
The tournament will be played on Briar Ridge's red and white courses, with the par 72 layout being played at 6,086 yards.
