Wrong-way crash on Route 9 in Westborough leaves several people injured

Police are investigating a crash in Westborough involved a wrong-way driver on Route 9.

A crash involving a wrong-way driver on Route 9 in Westborough has left several people injured, according to police.

Westborough police said officers were called just before 10 p.m. Saturday to the area of Route 9 and Otis Street for a report of a crash.

“The initial investigation shows that a vehicle was traveling east in the westbound high-speed lane,” police said. “The vehicle traveling west struck the vehicle traveling east in the westbound lane head on.”

Several people were injured in the crash.

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle has life-threatening injuries, according to police.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
