Victim ID’d after fatal shooting in Cleveland’s Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 19-year-old man died Saturday evening after a shooting in Cleveland’s East Side Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as Michael A. Preston, of Cleveland.
Cleveland police released additional information about the homicide on Sunday.
According to an email from police, a Shotspotter notification for shots fired was received around 5 p.m. in the 2800 block of E. 117th Street.
When they arrived, officers found Preston with multiple gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, police said.
The email from police said preliminary information suggests Preston was shot after stopping the car in front of a home.
He was approached by suspects who shot into the vehicle, police said.
Police have not made any arrests.
