Wichita State defeated the Kansas Jayhawks, 5-1, in the third exhibition game of the fall Saturday afternoon at Wilkins Stadium.

The win moved Wichita State to 3-0 this fall with five games remaining on the schedule.

Lauren Lucas homered for the second straight game, while Zoe Jones, Lauren Mills and Bailey Urban all recorded RBI's in the contest. The Shockers scored a run in the second, three in third and one more in the fourth.

Erin McDonald struck out seven Jayhawks in 3.0 innings of relief work. Caitlin Bingham started the game, allowing no runs on three hits in 3.0 innings. Jordyn Pipkin (2.0 IP), Alison Cooper (1.0 IP) and Kenzie Schopfer (1.0 IP) all saw action in the circle.

Wichita State has a week and a half off between its next game when Seminole State comes to Wilkins Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
