Turkish Airlines Begins Service to DFW

Turkish Airlines began its 11th long-haul service to the U.S. on Sept. 24 as it began flying from Istanbul to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Sept. 24. The airline is offering a four times weekly service to Istanbul on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday using its fleet of new Boeing 787-9’s.

Turkish flight 191 is blocked for 12hrs 45 mins, leaving Turkey at 2:10 p.m. and arriving in Dallas at 6:55 p.m. The return flight, Turkish flight 192 departs Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport at 8:25 p.m. and arrives at 3:50 p.m. the following day back at Istanbul Airport. These flights offer both business and economy class options.

With the start of Turkish Airlines service, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport now has 15 international carriers servicing the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

“For us, it’s going to open up Africa more to our customers which we think is phenomenal. It also opens Central and Eastern Europe,” said John Ackerman, Executive Vice President of Global Strategy and Development for DFW Airport. “With Turkish, they fly to more countries than any other airline in the world out of Istanbul, basically from here you can go to the world. It really expands our network and adds points of strength we didn’t have before.”

Turkish Airlines currently holds the crown as the airline that operates to the greatest number of countries of any passenger carrier in the world, currently operating to over 120 nations on five continents.
