India ended Australia's record 26-match winning streak with a thrilling last-over victory in the third one-day international in Mackay, Queensland.

The tourists reached their target of 265 with three balls to spare to complete their highest successful chase in women's ODIs.

Jhulan Goswami took 3-37 in Australia's 264-9, then hit the winning runs to give India a two-wicket success.

Australia take the ODI series 2-1 and lead the multi-format contest 4-2.

The one-off Test begins on Thursday in Carrara and is followed by three Twenty20 internationals.

It was a turnaround for Goswami to play such a key role in India's victory after she bowled a no-ball from what should have been the final ball of the second ODI to hand Australia an unlikely win.

The 38-year-old pace bowler was playing her 192nd game, going above England legend Charlotte Edwards into second on the all-time list of most-capped women in ODIs, behind only her team-mate Mithali Raj on 220.

Australia recovered from 87-4 thanks to 67 from Ashleigh Gardner, Beth Mooney's 52, and 47 by Tahlia McGrath.

Shafali Verma, with 56, and Yastika Bhatia, who made 64, added 101 for the second-wicket in India's chase.

Late cameos from Deepti Sharma (31 from 30 balls) and Sneh Rana (30 from 27) left India needing four to win from the final over.

After Meghna Singh took a single, Goswami lofted Sophie Molinuex down the ground to inflict Australia's first defeat since October 2017.

Their 26 successive victories is a record in all ODIs, both women's and men's.
