BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A man died Sunday morning after he was hit by a train at a crossing in the 1900 block of Vanderbilt Rd.

The Jefferson County Coroner has identified the victim as Ronald Baskett. He was 64.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. According to officials, Baskett was walking when he was hit by the train.

The circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated by the Birmingham Police Department.

Baskett is one of two people hit by a train this week. A man, who has not yet been identified, was hit and killed by a train Tuesday morning at Boise Avenue and 31st Street SW.
