WOMEN’S HOCKEY: Beavers fall to St. Cloud State in overtime
NS. CLOUD – Bemidji State women’s ice hockey team lost in overtime in St. Cloud on Saturday when St. Cloud State’s Emma Gentry scored the game-winning goal in the 3v3 overtime session to give the Huskies a 2: 1 show victory.
SCSU started the goal in the third period with a wrist shot by Jenniina Nylund from the slot to put the Huskies in the lead with 19:06 remaining. The BSU responded with 16:27 in the period to a result from Alyssa Watkins, without any assists from Ella Anick and Kayla Santl to tie the competition with 1.
Neither team scored a goal for the remainder of regular time, forcing 3-on-3 extra time. In extra time, Gentry used a remaining puck 1:38 to decide the result.
The Beavers return to the ice on Friday, October 1 at 6:01 p.m. in Mendota Heights for their regular season debut.
