Man dead following Urban Ave. shooting in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A man is dead following a Saturday night shooting in Columbus.
Police responded to the 3200 block of Urban Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday in reference to a shooting. Officers found 37-year-old-Marjester Thornton suffering from a gunshot wound.
Authorities said Thornton was unable to be revived by EMS personnel on the scene. Coroner Buddy Bryan tells News Leader 9 that Thornton was pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m.
