UFC 266 live blog: Jessica Andrade vs. Cynthia Calvillo

This is the UFC 266 live blog for Jessica Andrade vs. Cynthia Calvillo, a strawweight main card bout for Saturday’s fight card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Andrade is the No. 2 ranked flyweight in the MMA Fighting Global MMA Rankings and is a former strawweight champion. After losing the belt to Zhang Weili in 2019, she moved up to the flyweight division, where her results have been uneven; a win over Katlyn Chookagian was followed by a TKO loss to champ Valentina Shevchenko in a title shot earlier this year.

Calvillo, the No. 9 ranked fighter, has also also struggled with consistency during her octagon career. After a fast 3-0 rise up the ranks at strawweight, she suffered a loss to now-former champ Carla Esparza and was suspended for marijuana metabolites. Struggles on the scale prompted her to move up in weight, but she also came in heavy for her flyweight debut. In her most recent appearance, she was outpointed by Chookagian to leave her at 6-2-1 in the octagon.
