Georgia shut out a hapless Vanderbilt squad 62-0 in Nashville on Saturday afternoon.

At halftime of Saturday night’s game against Southern Miss in Tuscaloosa, Alabama looks absolutely dominant, holding a 42-7 lead at the intermission.

Alabama QB Bryce Young continues to look like a Heisman contender, the defense is elite, blah, blah, blah … we’ve heard this all before, right?

So, on a weekend where other top teams have struggled, including losses by Iowa State and Clemson, should we just fast-forward this season and set up the SEC Championship Game showdown between the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs?

Many fans on Twitter say they’ve seen enough to know that the Tide and Dawgs are the only 2 strong squads in all of college football this year:

Obviously, we aren’t going to skip ahead to the SEC title game (where’s the fun in that?), but these fans are right — unless another team steps up in a big way, it could be a year where Alabama and Georgia meet in Atlanta and then square off again in the College Football Playoff. We’ll see!
