Liverpool always knew that impressive, newly-promoted side Brentford would present a tricky prospect. However, it still appeared that the Reds weren't quite prepared for what the Bees as a wild game ended in a 3-3 draw.

Poised to seize create some distance at the top of the table after dropped points from Chelsea and Manchester United in the earlier games, Liverpool quickly fell behind, then went ahead through a strike from Diogo Jota and 100th Liverpool goal for Mohamed Salah, before twice losing lead, including a late heartbreaker from Yoanne Wissa.

“It was a wild game,” said Jurgem Klopp said after the match.

“Offensively I’m really happy, in moments we played some of the best football we’ve played this season against a really well-organized side."

The London club were particularly dangerous with long balls into the box, with Liverpool's defenders struggling to clear and succumbing to knock downs and scuffled finishes

“[We] obviously we struggled with their long balls," Klopp admitted. "And I was not too happy with how we started the game, that’s how we conceded a goal.

“We reacted well, scored some really nice goals and in the second half controlled the game better."

“The third goal from Curtis was outstanding but because we didn’t finish the game off the door stayed open, and they used it.

“But they deserve their three goals and deserved a point. They could have scored one more, we could have had four or five more.”

The Reds will now need to dust themselves off as they take on Porto in their second Championship League group fixture this upcoming Tuesday.
