Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard couldn't help but send his prayers for Dominican Republic boxer Lenin Castillo after his scary knockout at the hands of Callum Smith on Saturday.

In the second round of the light heavyweight bout, Smith connected a massive right hand to the jaw of Castillo. Right after it landed, it was clear something was not right on the 33-year-old as he fell to the canvas and began shaking violently.

The fight was immediately stopped and Castillo had to be stretchered off the  ring. Here's the full video of the knockout and the scary scene that followed:

After witnessing such knockout in the Anthony Joshua Vs. Oleksandr Usyk undercard, Lillard took to Twitter to send his prayers for Lenin Castillo. The Blazers superstar also expressed his hope that the boxer would be okay considering the nature of his fall.

According to the latest reports, though, Castillo was responsive and was eventually brought to the hospital. He's also said to be conscious and was only brought to the hospital for precautionary measures and not for anything serious.

Of course the Blazers guard was obviously happy with the development.

Damian Lillard is a big boxing fan, so it's not a surprise why he's tuned in even on the undercard fights of the Joshua-Usyk main event. However, while the Blazers leader certainly enjoys watching people fight in the ring, no one wants to see fighters get seriously injured.

Hopefully Castillo is truly fine and he didn't sustain any significant injury after his scary fall.
