When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid before he was transported to a local hospital, but the victim was later pronounced dead.

A class of fourth graders from La Scuola International School was at a nearby park when the shots were fired, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Students and teachers heard the gunshots and witnessed the shooter before returning to campus to shelter in place. Students will be offered emotional support from counselors at the school on Monday, officials said.

Police do not yet have a suspect as of Friday afternoon.
