Syracuse professor Sascha Scott wins masters title at Freihofer’s Run for Women

Sascha Scott, an associate professor of art history at Syracuse University, won the masters (over 40) title at the 43rd Freihofer’s Run for Women on Saturday in Albany.

Scott, 46, finished the 5K course in 18:17. She was 10th overall. Marisa Sutera Strange was second in the masters division in 18:56.

Scott runs for the Syracuse Track Club and is the mother of two kids, ages 8 and 10.

Aisling Cuffe, who is from Cornwall, N.Y., won the race in 16:34, 40 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, Cara Sherman.

The Freihofer’s Run for Women is one of America’s most prestigious all-female 5K road races. On Saturday, more than 1,000 women finished the race.
