Callum Smith Brutally Knocked Lenin Castillo Into Another Dimension In Second Round Of Light Heavyweight Debut

Lenin Castillo was shaking on the canvas after the deadly punch from Callum Smith.

Callum Smith came up with a frightening knockout in the second round of his clash with Lenin Castillo this evening.

The former WBA super-middleweight world champion made his return to the ring for the first time since his unanimous decision loss - the first of his career - to pound-for-pound No.1 fighter Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez last year.

In his debut at light heavyweight, it was an explosive performance from Mundo, who put Castillo away early on at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A devastating right hand over the top sent the 33-year-old crashing to the canvas on the Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk undercard.

He was completely out of it and started shaking while lay on his back in some scary scenes.

Many had said Smith's stoppage was the knockout of the year so far and Sky Sports did not show a replay of the sickening shot on their coverage.

Medical personnel attended to Castillo very quickly and he was taken away on a stretcher following the knockout.

Matchroom's Eddie Hearn confirmed that the Dominican was conscious and responsive, with Sky adding he was transported to hospital as a precaution.

Nevertheless, it was a quite incredible statement sent out from Smith, who now has his sights on becoming a two-weight world champion in the near future.
