NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A subway thief swiped a wallet from a commuter as the victim approached a Queens station turnstile Friday night, police said Saturday.

The victim, a 56-year-old man, was walking toward a turnstile at the 75th Street–Elderts Lane station, in Jamaica, around 8:50 p.m. when the thief snuck up behind him and forcibly removed the wallet from his hand, according to police.

The wallet-snatcher fled on foot. No injuries were reported.

Surveillance footage of the suspect released by the NYPD shows a man wearing a dark t-shirt and pants, bright sneakers and a glove on a single hand.

Police are asking the public for tips that lead to the suspect's arrest.
