Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones celebrate shared birthday with touching tributes

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas share the same Sept. 25 birthday, and took to Instagram Saturday to dedicate loving tributes to one another.

Douglas, 77, shared a throwback photo of the couple to Instagram alongside a lengthy caption honoring his wife’s solar return.

“My first night meeting Catherine at the Deauville Film Festival in 1998,” Douglas began, describing the accompanying flick of the pair. “I found out that she had the same birthday as me–tadaah! Then when I discovered she loved golf, I realized all my fantasies had come true.

“I’ve lucked out at this time in my life. I just lucked out,” he continued. “I’m so impressed by her intelligence, sense of humor and work ethic. Happy Birthday Catherine- I love you so much! ❤️ @catherinezetajones.”

Zeta-Jones was sure to reply within his comment section, writing, “Love you my love. Happy Birthday. 😍😍😍😍.”

The “Cocaine Godmother” actress, 52, kept her social media message simple and sweet, captioning her photo of the couple, “Happy Birthday to me.Happy Birthday to him, Happy Birthday to my husband and his wife, Happy Birthday to me, and me, and me, and Michael. 😂😂Here’s to more years that we can celebrate September 25th together. Love you.😘.”

In her own post, Zeta-Jones wears a white top and smiles at the camera while her husband looks at her adoringly. 

Last weekend, the couple attended the 2021 Emmys together, where Douglas was nominated twice for Netflix’s “The Kominsky Method.”

While he didn’t take home the gold, Zeta-Jones was sure to share how proud she was of her nominated hubby.

“I always like to see my husband nominated on the red carpet, I’ve become a very proud wife,” she told E! News.
