Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has just cinched an official Guinness World Record for achieving the title of the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game of all-time.

Hats off to you, Mediatonic. While the battle royale genre is as crowded as the correct square in a round of Perfect Match, Fall Guys arrived with a bang of technicolour. It helps that the premise is accessible, too. If you remember Takeshi's Castle or It's a Knockout, you're already good to go tumbling into the game's numerous silly levels.

Also, players generate Kudos (an in-game currency for buying cosmetics and emotes) simply by showing up. Extra allotments are awarded for completing the stage in the top 20% of players, for example, and the battle pass gives away a rare Crown or two even if you've never managed to win the tournament yourself.

Take a pew and remember Fall Guys' humble origins, when making it three-quarters of the way up Fall Mountain made you think that perhaps Total Wipeout isn't as tough as it looks.

Fall Guys has won a number of awards from Best Community Support at The Game Awards to Best Multiplayer and Best Family Game at the Golden Joysticks, and it seemed like everyone wanted a slice of the pie. Limited time skins like Gordon Freeman, Doomguy, Sonic, Among Us and more came out to celebrate the stratospheric success of the game and its popularity with all kinds of gamers.

And, one year on from its launch, it looks like Fall Guys isn't slowing down any time soon. The actual announcement that the game is the most-downloaded title that came with PS Plus was revealed at the start of this year, yet now Guinness World Records has officially certified the feat.

"From BAFTA nominations to a full-on bean-based ESPN documentary, those adorable beans have cropped up in some incredible places!" said the studio in an official statement. "We just want to say a huge thank you to the wonderful Fall Guys community-moments like this would be literally impossible without your enthusiasm, feedback and support."
