FLINT, MIPolice are investigating a crash between a Michigan State Police patrol vehicle and a civilian’s car in Flint.

The crash occurred about 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24. Preliminary findings are that a trooper was heading south on Ballenger Highway just north of the Corunna Road intersection.

As the trooper was going around stopped traffic, a 2015 Chevrolet Impala turned left into the patrol vehicle’s path while pulling into a business.

The Impala’s occupants — an 18-year-old male and an 18-year-old female, both from Flint — reported minor injuries but declined medical treatment at the scene. The trooper was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection of Ballenger Highway and Corunna Road was closed for about 2 hours as police investigated. Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
