Who's Playing

San Jose State @ Western Michigan

Current Records: San Jose State 2-1; Western Michigan 2-1

What to Know

The San Jose State Spartans will hit the road for the third straight week as they head to Waldo Stadium at 2 p.m. ET Saturday. The neutral point spread forecasts a close one for these two.

SJSU didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup with the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors last week, but they still walked away with a 17-13 win.

Meanwhile, it was all tied up 27-27 at the half for the Western Michigan Broncos and the Pittsburgh Panthers last week, but the Broncos stepped up in the second half for a 44-41 victory. RB Sean Tyler and WR Corey Crooms were among the main playmakers for WMU as the former punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to snatching one receiving TD and the latter caught seven passes for one TD and 161 yards. Near the top of the highlight reel was Kaleb Eleby's 54-yard TD bomb to Crooms in the third quarter.

The wins brought both teams up to an identical 2-1. A couple defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Spartans are stumbling into the game with the 132nd most passing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 212.3 on average. WMU has experienced some passing struggles of their own as they are 240th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with nine on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
