Glenwood Secures Big Win Over Normal U-High

Normal, IL – The Glenwood Titans came out Friday Night against Normal University High, guns a’Blaiseing.
Triggerman Jack Knudson was firing on all cylinders against the Pioneers at Hancock Stadium connecting 14 out of 18 times to six different targets. His number one checkdown was Galashky Blaise, who was burning it up. The 5’10 junior caught 5 passes totaling 149 yards for two touchdowns, not to mention 2 punt returns for another 37 yards. An equally impressive outing came from another junior Wideout, Miles Stapleton, who nearly ended up in the end zone on all his receptions, but I suppose two touchdowns on three catches for 87 yards will have to do. Backup quarterback Jacob Ahlberg spent more time with the ball on the ground than in the air collecting 81 yards on four rushing attempts and scoring on his breakaway 52 yard sprint. Jamarion Smith would add one more touchdown for the Glenwood Titans. Each Chatham score was sealed by an extra point by Mia Gerger who was 6 for 6 on PAT’s.
The Titan defense dominated all night. That’s it, that’s the sentence. Pioneer Quarterback Colin Cunningham was running for his life most of the game but was only sacked two times. The junior Quarterback showed major resiliency all game and maxed out on every single snap, completing 57% of his 21 throws andtrying to get the Pioneer offense going with his feet. Though he only managed to add 12 yards on the ground his versatility kept the offense spontaneous for most of the night. However, the Titan defense just proved to be too much to handle only allowing 199 yards of total offense adding one interception (Chase Hammond) and one fumble recovery (Brock Rogers) for the night. The shutout was ruined with just over a minute to play as Cunningham connected with Ryan Pukacz for a touchdown making the final score 42-7.
The Titans will face-off next Friday (October 1) at home versus the Southeast Spartans. Coverage will begin at 6:30PM with kickoff scheduled for 7PM on WMAY.
