Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Wisconsin Badgers: Live stream, time, date, odds, how to watch

Scooby Axson
USA TODAY

A late September matchup that could have major College Football Playoff implications takes place Saturday when Notre Dame takes on Wisconsin at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Fighting Irish have looked lackluster in their first three games in defeating Florida State, Toledo and Purdue. The Irish are led by Jack Coan, who played for the Badgers from 2017-20, started 18 games and led Wisconsin to the 2020 Rose Bowl.

Coan's replacement at Wisconsin is sophomore Graham Mertz, who has thrown for  326 yards and hasn't thrown a touchdown pass in the team's two games this season. The Badgers (1-1) are coming off a 34-7 home victory over Eastern Michigan.

The teams are meeting for the first time since 1964, with the Irish holding an 8-6-2 series lead.

Notre Dame wide receiver Avery Davis catches a pass for a touchdown in front of Purdue safety Chris Jefferson.
