FULDA -- Trevor King returned the opening kickoff 77 yards for a touchdown to spark Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda to a shutout victory over Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther here Friday night in a Nine-Man game.

Parker Murphy passed for 116 yards and two scores, and Brayden Peil and Jaxson Tiesler each had TD runs for the Coyotes, now 1-3 on the season.

Dominic White scored a touchdown on a 50-yard interception return and caught a 25-yard TD pass from Murphy. King also had a touchdown reception.

Peil rushed for 108 yards and contributed eight tackles and a quarterback sack on defense. Tiesler ran for 78 yards. He also had two sacks and tacked on three 2-point conversions.

King also played well defensively with 11 tackles and a forced fumble.

Edgerton 24, RRC 0

EDGERTON -- Eighth-grade running back Michael Gunnink rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Edgerton Dutchmen to a shutout victory over Red Rock Central in a Nine-Man game.

Senior star Nolan Buckridge ran for 161 yards for the Dutchmen, now 3-1 on the season. Red Rock Central fell to 2-2.

Freshman quarterback Blake Schultz was 4-for-6 passing for 52 yards. He also had an interception defensively.

Jered Fischer had two quarterback sacks and Jacob Fischer had one.

Edgerton outgained Red Rock Central 355-103 in total yardage.

MCW 22, Adrian/Ellsworth 7

ADRIAN -- Dawson Krahling of Adrian-Ellsworth rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown, but the Dragons dropped a 22-7 decision to unbeaten Martin County West here Friday night in an 11-man game.

Christian Bachenberg ran for two touchdowns and threw a 68-yard TD pass to Zach Anderson for Martin County West, which improved to 4-0.

Breyer Hieronimus passed for 90 yards for Adrian-Ellsworth, which dropped to 1-3. Isaac Bullerman had three receptions for 27 yards, while Dragon teammate Reece Carlson caught two passes for 39 yards.

Adrian-Ellsworth was led defensively by Jaren Winselman, who had 12 tackles. Reece Carlson added 10 stops.

Luverne 31 New Ulm 20

LUVERNE -- Casey Sehr passed for 337 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Luverne Cardinals defeated New Ulm Friday night in a Big South Conference game.

Sehr was 15-for-27 passing. He also scored on a 23 yard run. Gannon Ahrendt caught 7 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns. Luverne scored quickly in the first quarter when Eli Radtke returned an interception for a touchdown.

Luverne improved to 2-2 while New Ulm dropped to 0-4. The Cardinals, who play at Worthington next Friday night, outgained New Ulm 443-269 in total yardage.

WESTBROOK -- Cole Baker rushed for 150 yards and scored four touchdowns as Hills-Beaver Creek advanced to 4-0 with a solid victory over Red Rock Conference rival Westbrook-Walnut Grove.

Baker carried for 10, 5, 8 and 56-yard touchdown runs.

Teammate Oliver Deelstra scored on a 9-yard run and Luke Fuerstenberg scored on a 7-yard run.

Brayden Peil scored W-WG’s lone touchdown from 11 yards out.

H-BC accumulated 289 yards rushing and 72 yards passing compared to the Chargers’ 59 yards rushing and 55 passing.

Baker gained his 150 yards on 14 carries. Teammates Deelstra and Andrew Harris intercepted passes on defense.

Pipestone Area 14, Redwood Valley 7

PIPESTONE -- Maddox Biever ran for two touchdowns as the unbeaten Pipestone Area Arrows defeated Redwood Valley here Friday night.

Brandon Lang scored on a 57-yard pass reception for Redwood, which dropped to 3-1.

Pipestone Area is 4-0.

LAKE PARK -- Junior quarterback Tyce Gunderson scored on two 1-yard plunges as Lake Park defeated Bishop Garrigan of Algona 19-2 Friday night in a District game.

It was the third straight victory for the H-LP Wolves, who are 3-2 on the season.

After Bishop Garrigan (3-2) took the lead with a safety in the first quarter, Harris-Lake Park scored three straight unanswered touchdowns. The Wolves’ Nick Sage blocked a punt in the second quarter and teammate Colton Voss returned it about 15 yards for a touchdown.

Gunderson’s two scores came in the second half.

JCC 50, Windom 6

JACKSON -- Eighth-grade quarterback Roman Voss passed for 95 yards and two touchdowns as Jackson County Central knocked off Windom Area here Friday night.

Will Freking ran for 149 yards and two touchdowns for JCC, which improved to 2-2. Tanner Harr caught both TD passes from Voss. Also rushing for Jackson touchdowns were Payton Handevidt, Seth Stai and Noah Thompson.

Girls tennis

WHS 7, MACCRAY 0

WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington High girls tennis team did not lose a set en route to a dominant victory over MACCRAY here Friday.

Singles victories for the Trojans came from Marah Darling (6-0, 6-1), Ivy Jenson (6-0, 6-0), Kessey Aljets (6-2, 6-2) and Bailey Newman (6-2, 6-0).

All three Worthington doubles teams also won handily, including the tandems of Taya Oberloh-Brooke Nordseth (6-4, 6-0), Calah Riley-Madison Shaffer (6-0, 6-1), and Hannah McNab-Taylor Nordseth (6-0, 6-0).
