An RV fire sparked a small brush fire on Friday near Glendora, at the foot of the Angeles National Forest, authorities said.

The fire was reported around 4 p.m. in the area of Big Dalton Canyon Road and Glendora Mountain Road, an unincorporated area near Glendora, said Charisma Murillo, spokesperson for Los Angeles County fire.

The flames made their way uphill and burned toward the forest, authorities said. The blaze eventually entered National Forest land, burning three acres of brush.

After gaining control of the fire by Friday evening, a spot fire ignited outside the contained perimeter of the fire at 6:30 p.m., said Supervising Dispatcher Ed Pickett with county fire. The spot fire was extinguished one hour later and fire crews regained full containment of the blaze.

Crews from Los Angeles County fire and the U.S. Forest Service battled the blaze.

The fire did not threaten any structures.

Fire crews also responded to another fire on Friday in the Whittier Narrows area in Pico Rivera where flames charred at least 52 acres of brush.
