SALT LAKE CITY — Check back here for the latest scores from all the Week 7 high school football games across the state.

Game of the Week: Skyridge at Corner Canyon

Why did we choose this game?

It's the game we've all been waiting for: a regular-season rematch between the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the KSL.com High School Top 20+1 rankings. In the last meeting between the Region 4 powerhouses, Corner Canyon had to use a 15-point fourth quarter comeback to top the home team 29-26 and to stay undefeated en route to a state title.

Instead of Jaxson Dart under center, Devin Brown will be leading the way for the Chargers this year, and he's more than capable of keeping Corner Canyon's near-record win streak intact. Brown has thrown for 2,007 yards and 22 touchdowns on 102-of-141 passing, and has an average completion to a plethora of receivers of 19.68 yards.

Skyridge, though, has been no slouch on defense this year and could limit Brown's ability to move the ball — he has seven picks this year and the Falcons will look to increase that number. The Falcons have four shutouts (nearly five until a late-minute safety transpired last week) to their credit this season and have the defense that could break Corner Canyon's run.

On offense, McCae Hillstead is back at quarterback for Skyridge and ready for revenge. Hillstead led the Falcons to a 26-14 halftime lead over Corner Canyon last year but couldn't get it done in the second half as the Chargers' defense held strong. Hillstead has thrown for 1,235 yards and 11 touchdowns on 88-of-156 passing this year.

Will Corner Canyon extend its multi-season winning streak as it approaches the state record held by Duchesne? Or will Skyridge ruin history in the making and finally claim the upperhand over Corner Canyon?

It's time to get excited for high school football.
