After a violent Thursday in Tulsa, NewsChannel 8 is standing up for families living in those neighborhoods.
The Tulsa Police Department is used to responding to shootings and murders.
"But for it to be almost back to back to back, is a bit unusual," said Tulsa Police Officer Andre Baul.
At one point on Thursday, Tulsa Police were investigating three different crime scenes at the same time.
"What is the police department doing to try to curb violence?" asked NewsChannel 8's Daniela Ibarra.
"We see trends, we look for trends, we look for different players." responded Baul. "We always do our best to try to see if there's anything that we're doing, or something we can do from the public standpoint to try to help us out, because we can't be everywhere."
Baul said with more police officers on the force, they'd be able to have a stronger presence, which he believes would help curb crime.
Two people were murdered in District 1, which is overseen by Tulsa City Councilor Vanessa Hill-Harper.
The man killed at the Town Square apartment complex is the third person to be murdered there this year.
NewsChannel 8 reached out to Hill-Harper to see what's she's doing to curb crime rates.
Hill-Harper said she was booked for the day, but did say she requested a meeting with the Tulsa Housing Authority to talk strategy.
Down in District 9, police investigated a shooting where three people were hurt. Police said they expect them to be okay.
NewsChannel 8 reached out to Councilor Jayme Fowler about his plans to curb crime. He told us he was working with the Tulsa Police Department on different strategies.
"Do you think that this is a problem that actually has a solution?" asked Ibarra.
"It's just something that we don't think that we can actually say, if we do this, then it will stop, because not all shootings are equal," said Baul. "You have different types, some things you just can't predict."
