For the past two decades Claudia Towles has built her life around her toy shop in Fells Point.
But, in less than a week Amuse Toys will be no longer.
Towles announced her shop will be closing September 30.
The owner telling FOX45 News the struggle of the pandemic, including loss in revenue and frustrations with closures and restrictions has prompted Towles not only to close her store, but also run for Baltimore City Council.
"We're working with a broken supply chain we can't control and we're working within an environment that has a pervasive apathy to the concerns of small businesses."
Towles says she will be running for Baltimore City Council's District 1 seat and says a big part of her platform will involve being a voice for small businesses.
The seat is currently held by Councilman Zeke Cohen.
