A northeast Missouri man with an extensive criminal history is behind bars accused of using a rifle to threaten two women.
The Macon County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of E. Jones Ave. in New Cambria, Mo.
The suspect is Todd Allen Grigsby Jr., 34, of New Cambria.
According to court documents, the two women told deputies that as they were walking down the street, Grigsby approached them with a high-powered pellet rifle and told them in an angry, threatening manner to turn around a go a different direction.
They said Grigsby had the weapon pointed at them during the confrontation.
The women then left the area and called 911.
Deputies said when they arrived at Grigsby's home, he was sitting on the front porch with the rifle with a scope in his lap.
They report that Grigsby failed to comply with their commands.
After a short time, the officers were able to disarm the suspect.
Grigsby was charged Friday with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, two counts of fourth-degree assault and two counts of peace disturbance.
He is being held in the Macon County jail on $25,000 cash-only bond.
