Celtic booked their place in the semi-final of the League Cup with a win over Championship side Raith Rovers last night. Goals from Jota, Liel Abada and David Turnbull sealed the progression for the Celts.

Jota got on the end of an excellent assist from James McCarthy to open the scoring. Shortly before half time, the Celts had their second as Jota’s shot was parried into the path of Abada. In the second half, Celtic made it 3-0 thanks to a strike from range from Turnbull.

The victory was followed by the draw, which pits Celtic against holders St Johnstone in the second of the two Semi-Finals being played at Hampden. It is Ange’s first trip to Hampden and he will know the significance of the game. The winners will play the winner of Rangers versus Hibernian.

Hopefully, the manager will be able to welcome back important players like McGregor, Kyogo, Jullien, Forrest and Taylor for the semi final.
