A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in a crash that left two children injured in North Las Vegas Thursday night.
Julian Valdivias, 22, was booked into Clark County Detention Center on two counts of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, Officer Alexander Cuevas with North Las Vegas Police said in an email.
Records indicate his first court appearance is scheduled for Saturday morning.
Investigators believe a Chevrolet Silverado was heading south on Pecos Road at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a Nissan SUV that was turning left from Pecos onto westbound Cheyenne Avenue, police said.
A 1-year-old and a 4-year-old child were passengers in the Nissan.
Cuevas said the 4-year-old remains listed in critical condition as of Friday, while the 1-year-old was listed as stable Thursday night.
The driver of the Nissan reported minor injuries, police said.
Both the driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were taken to UMC for their injuries.
The two SUVs crashed into a third car, a Ford Focus. The three people inside that car did not need to be transported.
