Bomb, shooting threat to Times Square Disney store deemed fake: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The Disney store in Times Square was temporarily evacuated on Friday after it received a bomb and shooting threat, but the threat was deemed to be a hoax, the NYPD said.

Officers responded to the store at 1540 Broadway, near West 45th Street, Friday afternoon after a caller threatened the outpost, police said.

The store was evacuated and the streets around it were temporarily cordoned off as police investigated the threat, the NYPD said.

By around 5:20 p.m. on Friday, however, the department had given the all clear for people to return to the area.

No one had been arrested in connection with the threat as of Friday evening. An investigation is ongoing.
